Conversations with the Earth: Indigenous Voices on Climate Change

A special exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian showcases photos, videos, and audio recordings of tribal communities’ experiences with climate change.

The media presentations at Conversations with the Earth offer first-hand perspectives on the effect climate change is having on indigenous people around the world, from declining caribou herds to wild fires. The exhibition also explores how tribal communities have utilized traditional knowledge and stewardship expertise to build resilience to climate change, such as maintaining food security in drought conditions.

The exhibition will be on view at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (recently LEED-certified) in Washington, DC through January 2, 2012.
